Make it Monday: Goodbye 7 layer dip!

So even though I try to eat healthy, I am not going to lie to you and say that I do not like the traditional 7 layer dip. I do love it. But, I do not like having to work off what I eat on holidays or backyard parties with friends. So when I discovered this recipe, I couldn't wait to make it and share. It is just as good, actually better, and I hope you will agree!

(This is another recipe from Iowa Girl Eats, she comes up with some of the most delicious recipes!)

Taco Dip

Ingredients:
8oz hummus (I used Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus)
6oz plain Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon salt-free taco seasoning
1/4 cup salsa (I recommend pico de gallo, the salsa made the dip watery)

Toppings:
chopped tomato
sliced black olives (optional)
shredded cheddar cheese
shredded lettuce
diced avocado

Directions:
Spread hummus on the bottom of a deep plate or bowl. Mix taco seasoning with Greek yogurt then spread on top of hummus. Spread salsa (or pico) on top followed by remaining toppings. Serve with tortilla chips and sliced/chopped fresh veggies.

Do you have any healthy alternatives to your favorite party treats?
